A Little About Us

We are back!
After almost 2 years of inactivity due to the pandemic, we have finally returned. Our annual panto, postponed from 2021, finally made it to the Plowright Theatre in early January. Jack and the Beanstalk, written by Geoff Wharton, had all of the usual songs, dance, slapstick and corny jokes. We had very good audience numbers, and would like to thank each and every one of you who came along.

Welcome to our new website
This a brand new website, built from the ground up, and as such is very much a work in progress. Over the coming weeks and months we will be adding content, building towards a comprehensive archive of our 70 year history.
You will see many pages across the site with what looks a bit like Latin. Don't be alarmed, this is tool used by the publishing industry (called "Greek") as a place holder to be able to have the layout constructed before the final text is available.

Our Touring Ethos
For many years Scunthorpe Little Theatre Club has taken a variety of shows 'on the road'. The aim has been to bring the magic of theatre to surrounding villages, reaching audiences who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live theatre. It also provides an opportunity for club memebers not lucky enough to be cast in our main productions to perform.

Yes, Prime Minister
By Antony Jay & Jonathan Lynn
The original writers of the classic BBC TV series, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn have reunited for this anniversary production with a new satirical take on Whitehall. Prime Minister Jim Hacker and his Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby are back, spinning out of control through the collapsing euro and austerity measures in a world of 24 hour news, Blackberrys and ‘sexed up’ dossiers.
With the country on the brink of financial meltdown the PM is staring disaster in the face with his only apparent salvation in a morally dubious deal with the Foreign Minister of Kumranistan. Will Jim Hacker and his team of advisors be able to rescue the country from the edge?
